Refurbished laptops, backed for a year.

MacBooks and business-grade Windows laptops, tested and refurbished 100% in-house at 37 Williamson Street. Battery condition disclosed on every machine, your files moved across free, and a one-year warranty behind the lot.

Ex-corporate machines, second careers.

  • Built for fleet duty. Business-grade laptops are engineered for years of daily service, then retired on a lease schedule regardless of condition. Their second owner gets the better half of the deal.
  • Tested like we own it. Ports, hinge, keyboard, display, speakers, and battery, all checked on our bench. MacBooks come with their cycle count disclosed, not guessed.
  • One-year warranty as standard. The same warranty behind every repair we do, on every laptop we sell. In addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law, not instead of them.
  • Set up and moved in. Your files come across from the old machine free, and if you'd like a sit-down walk-through before you take it home, that's what the bench stools are for.

Our grading scale

  • Excellent: Near-new in the hand. Lid, keyboard, and screen free of marks you'd notice, battery strong, fully tested on our bench.
  • Very good: Light, honest wear from normal desk duty. Screen clean, battery healthy, or a new battery fitted in-house before it leaves.
  • Good: Visible wear that doesn't touch performance. Every port and key tested and working, priced to match the cosmetics.

Every laptop is graded on our bench, and the grade, battery condition, and condition notes are disclosed before you buy. What we say is what you get.

Here versus a marketplace listing.

A marketplace laptop is a photo, a price, and a stranger's word on the battery. Here's what changes when the seller is the workshop that refurbished it.

  • Backed for a year, in writing. A private sale is as-is the moment you walk away. Every laptop here carries a one-year warranty on top of your Australian Consumer Law rights.
  • Every port, key, and cycle counted. "Barely used" in a listing is a hope. Our grades come off the same bench that has completed 18,622 repairs, with battery condition measured and disclosed.
  • Somewhere to come back to. Questions, setup help, or a repair down the track, keyboards, batteries, screens, the lot, on the same bench that refurbished it. We're at 37 Williamson Street.

Frequently asked questions

Are refurbished laptops worth buying?

Business-grade laptops are built for a three-year corporate lease and retired regardless of condition, so the machines were engineered to last far longer than their first owner kept them. The catch is seller quality, not device quality.

Are refurbished MacBooks good?

A properly refurbished MacBook is functionally the machine it always was, with the wear disclosed and the battery measured. Apple silicon MacBooks in particular hold up for years. Every one here has its cycle count disclosed before you buy.

How much does a refurbished laptop cost?

Depends on the machine and grade. As a guide, recent machines here have ranged from about $650 for a business-grade Dell Latitude to $1,800 for a MacBook Pro 16" M1. Prices are indicative, confirmed in writing before you commit.

MacBook or Windows laptop?

Whatever you'll actually use. If your world is iPhone, photos, and uni work, an Apple silicon MacBook is hard to beat. If you want the most machine for the least money, an ex-corporate Latitude is the honest bargain. Come in and try both.

Will my files come across?

Yes, and it's free. Your files move across from the old machine before the new one leaves the shop, and a sit-down walk-through of the new machine is included if you'd like one.

What happens if something goes wrong later?

Bring it back. Warranty faults are fixed, that's the point of the warranty. Anything else is repaired on the same bench that refurbished it, keyboards, batteries, screens, and boards included.
