We open the laptop and inspect the trackpad, its ribbon cable and the surrounding hardware so the fault is properly diagnosed before anything is replaced. If reseating the cable or a software fix sorts it, that is the cheaper outcome and we will always try that first. If the trackpad itself has failed, we can source and fit a replacement.
